Mecure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel
WOW! Possibly one of my most favourite wedding venues so far!
Mecure Burford Bridge Hotel stands at the base of Box Hill in Dorking, surrounded by the North Downs. The Tithe Barn makes for a stunning venue, with it's wooden beams, minstrel gallery and stunning grounds, not to the mention the pool!! Being part of the Mecure/Accor group you can expect the high quality services they promise.
I have been lucky enough to have been a Bridesmaid at this venue twice. Once in 2006 for my sister and again in 2018 for one of my best friends. As a photographer, it was hard to put down my camera to be a Bridesmaid so to have the opportunity to shoot here at Burford Bridge, was a dream and it didn't disappoint.
As a venue, I can't fault it. The team of staff were so polite, friendly and helpful and made sure the day ran smoothly. They looked after the guests and the suppliers, which we are are always very grateful for.
There are some lovely rooms to get ready in with plenty of space for the all important bride/groom prep.
The Tithe Barn is stunning. Each time I've seen the aisle, it's always been dressed beautifully. The team are able to turn the room around quickly ready for the wedding breakfast (which is always delicious) and again when you're ready to hit that dance floor! There is a minstrel gallery which allows for some alternative angles for photos too.
For this wedding, the room was draped in fairy lights which was simple and stunning. I have also seen it dressed with lanterns and foliage so there's no doubt your wedding vision can be brought to life here.
The grounds are beautiful. There is greenery, beautiful trees, steps, seating areas... The team at Burford Bridge have added fairy lights around the seating area which looks so lovely in the evening and adds some bokeh in photos.
My Mum's rule rule for checking out any venue, is to make sure the loos are clean and nice and I can tell you these are good ones! There is even a chez lounge in the ladies!
Now let's talk about the pool! We have to talk about the pool! Not only does it make for some lovely and unique photos, it is the perfect place for a dip with your guests the next day! The bride at this particular wedding was considering jumping in, in her wedding dress until she realised she'd have to transport a soaking wet wedding dress home with her! But what a fun photo that would have been!
The added bonus of it being a hotel is that you and your guests can stay over, enjoy the venue some more, have a lovely breakfast together and potentially enjoy the outdoor pool. So you continue the celebrations with your friends and family for that little bit longer.
Having now seen the venue as a guest and as a photographer, I can honestly say it is perfect from both points of view. If you are considering this venue, my advice is book it!
